Jezebel, a succubus, is on the run from Hell. There is a contract out on her and the demons are out in force looking for her. If caught, she could end up spending a millennium in the Lake of Fire so she does the only thing she can think of, she goes to the aid of a witch. The witch agrees to turn her human and Jezebel’s life won’t ever be the same.
This is the kind of book you pick up and don’t put down till you’re done reading it.
Jezebel, the story’s protagonist, is one of the most interesting characters I’ve read about lately. She is most definitely the star of this book. She is laugh out loud funny, sexy, extremely sexual (being a former succubus, it’s expected) sweet, but don’t tell her that, and very witty. She made being a human absolutely hilarious! For instance the first time she has to go to the bathroom. She has to clean up herself and thinks it was easier being a blowup doll since all she had to do was use a little zap of power and she was clean.
Jezebel’s “friends” were also very interesting and I most certainly want to know more about them especially the incubus Daun. He sounded absolutely wicked! YUM! Meg, on the other hand, comes off as powerful, gorgeous, but a bitch with her own agenda.
Oh, and let me tell you just what kind of job Jezebel gets. She becomes a stripper, that’s right you heard me, a stripper. I must admit, Jackie Kessler making Jezebel a stripper was genius! With her personality and extreme sensuality she was a natural. I did, as I was reading this, wonder if Ms. Kessler had actually gone into a strip club because she describes it just like I picture it. I have never personally gone to a strip club myself but I have seen them on television.
That was another thing I enjoyed about the story. With her vivid descriptions you are able to put yourself in that time and place and see it as she does.
Yes, if you’re wondering the loves scenes or sex scenes, however you want to describe them are pretty hot! It’s just that for me, Jezebel becoming more human as time went on is what had me truly hooked. It was an absolutely fun read and I can’t wait till her next book, The Road to Hell is out in stores.
I truly believe Ms. Kessler has a fabulous career ahead of her in the paranormal romance writing world! Her books may just end up on your keeper shelf.
